Culture, Governance, and the Rule of Law at a Global Crossroads
Morocco is a country shaped by the meeting of Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, where centuries-old traditions and modern institutions coexist. It offers a compelling lens on culture, governance, justice, and public life in a rapidly changing world.
Why Morocco
Morocco invites participants to explore the balance between tradition and reform, shaped in part by its constitutional monarchy and evolving institutions, as well as the interplay of law, culture, local identity, and global connection. Your experience of Morocco will challenge common preconceptions about the Muslim world, replacing stereotypes with lived experience that is complex, diverse, and deeply human. CLE Abroad programs are designed to be accessible to all, with layered perspectives for those interested in law, public policy, international affairs, culture, and business.
Who is this for?
CLE Abroad Morocco programs are ideal for curious professionals, organizations, and travelers seeking deeper global perspective—whether through law and culture, food and tradition, dialogue and exchange, or thoughtfully designed group experiences. Programs are well suited for mixed audiences, including lawyers and non-lawyers, guests, corporate groups, and institutional partners.
CLE Abroad Morocco programs feature thoughtfully curated experiences, including conversations with local experts, academics, and professionals; visits to culturally and civically significant places; and time to experience Morocco’s hospitality, cuisine, design, and vibrant shopping culture.
Explore Further
CLE Abroad Morocco programs typically include time in several of the country’s most important cities, each offering a distinct perspective on public life, culture, and identity:
Casablanca – Morocco’s economic center and a convenient international gateway for arrivals and departures; programs often include a visit to the Hassan II Mosque.
Rabat – The political and administrative capital, home to national institutions and the seat of the constitutional monarchy; a coastal city known for its historic kasbahs, relaxed pace, and cosmopolitan public life.
Fez – A historic center of learning and tradition, illuminating religion, education, and cultural continuity; home to the Fez Medina, a vast labyrinth of more than 10,000 alleyways and one of the best places in Morocco to experience traditional craftsmanship and handmade goods.
Marrakech – An imperial city where history, identity, creativity, and daily life intersect; long a global tourism center and an influential hub for Moroccan design, fashion, and leisure, offering space for both cultural immersion and refined downtime.
Cities are selected based on program design, themes, and timing.
Depending on the season and schedule, CLE Abroad Morocco programs may offer optional extensions to other regions of the country, including Tangier, Chefchaouen (the Blue City), southern Morocco and the Sahara Desert, featuring dramatic landscapes, oasis towns, and overnight desert experiences.
CLE Abroad Morocco programs are most commonly offered in winter, spring, and fall, when weather and travel conditions are at their best. Certain themes, routes, and extensions—particularly desert experiences—are best suited to specific times of year.
