All CLE Abroad Spain programs anchor in the country's central hub before bifurcating to explore Spain's regional diversity:
Madrid (The Core) – The central capital and core anchor of our Spain programs. Madrid is renowned for its royal history, the "Golden Triangle of Art" (including the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums), expansive green spaces like Retiro Park, and vital national legal institutions.
Following the core program in Madrid, delegations may choose to journey South to experience Spain's dramatic regional contrasts:
Option: The South (Andalusia & Toledo)
Toledo – Known as the "City of Three Cultures," reflecting centuries of coexistence between Christians, Muslims, and Jews.
Córdoba – Home to the architectural marvel of the Mezquita-Catedral and the picturesque, flower-lined streets of the Jewish quarter.
Granada – Situated at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, featuring the breathtaking Alhambra palace and the vibrant flamenco caves of the Sacromonte neighborhood.
Seville – The majestic capital of Andalusia, a melting pot of cultures known for passionate flamenco, the towering Giralda, and the stunning Mudéjar architecture of the Real Alcázar.
Programs are highly recommended during the Spring and Fall when the climate is mildest, allowing participants to comfortably explore archaeological sites, historic city centers, and regional vineyards while avoiding the intense heat of the peak summer months.
